President’s Message
from The Flypaper newsletter March, 2014

2014DJefferies
Dick Jefferies

Ice off! It’s the call of the fly fisher. Sorry, and my apologies to all of you ice fishing folk but it is time to get ready for some real fishing. Just the other day it was 60 and that wasn’t the wind speed! Ice is thawing, streams are opening up, BWO’s are starting their dance, the stonefly molt on the Ark is on and caddis blooms are just around the corner. Now who ever said Christmas only comes once a year.

A great time was had by all at the RMF Tying Expo last month. Many, many thanks to all who helped in the cause. Please see the first article below for a list of participants.

I also want to thank a bunch of people at RMF as well. You quietly go about your volunteer work in making this event happen and without you it wouldn’t happen. You know who you are so please accept my heartfelt thanks for a job well done!!

April is a big deal for us at RMF. We will have a special celebration of our 30th anniversary. It will take place on Monday, April 21 from 6:30 until 9:00. This event will replace our normal meeting so be sure to change dates on your calendar. Oh yeah, we are going to have this little soiree at Odell Brewing (thank you Odell) and I have heard rumor about some free beer!! More news will be coming in the near future about what will take place that evening so stay tuned.

Finally, see what you think of the new format of the newsletter this month. We have provided more links for those that want to read additional information and hope you like the feature.

At the very end of this edition of The Flypaper (scroll all the way down) you can answer a single question to give your feed-back on the new format. Please take a minute or so to do this.

See you on a river or lake somewhere soon.
