This restoration project, part of the Greenback Restoration needs 5 people to volunteer for this week long adventure. Volunteers will be working with Historicorps and the US Forest Service to rebuild a cabin that will become the worksite headquarters for the Greenback Restoration program in the headwaters of the Poudre River watershed. Contact Phil Wright for details.
  • August 8: RMF Board Meeting at 7:00 PM. Members are welcome to attend any board meeting. Check with a Board Member for the meeting location and/or agenda.
  • August 22: Fishing Small Streams in Rocky Mountain National Park
Small stream fun with dry flies in the Park makes for a great day! Four people (in addition to our hosts) will have to be the max since the water is so small. Contact Mark Miller.

Note of the Day:

At the turn of the century, the lower Beaver Kill in New York State was too warm and polluted for trout, due to extensive clearcutting, paper mills, and tanneries along its banks. The banks are now forested, the tanneries and mills are long gone, but this river is still a sensitive ecosystem, threatened by roads and housing developments. —Tom Rosenbauer
