- November 16: Guest Night-“Fishing the Seasons of the Arkansas”
Bill Edrington is a sociology/criminology professor for twenty-five years and owner of Royal Gorge Anglers for sixteen years in Canon City. He has been fly fishing for over forty years, most of it in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. He has authored over a dozen articles on fly fishing the Arkansas river, fly fishing Caddis hatches and fly fishing instruction. His writings have appeared in Fly Fisherman Magazine, Fly Rod and Reel, American Angler, and Fly Fish America. He currently writes the fishing reports for each quarterly issue of High Country Angler and makes reports on Ask About Fly Fishing.com
His recent book, Fly Fishing the Arkansas, has become a “must have” for those fly fishers interested in fishing Southern Colorado. Bill last visited us in April of 2006 when he spoke to us about the “Arkansas: Fishing the Seasons.”
This is our membership drive so please bring a friend or two who you think will benefit by joining Rocky Mountain Flycasters and Trout Unlimited (only $17.50 for the first year). Anyone who signs up at the meeting gets five free raffle tickets. Prizes include a fly fishing rod, a reel, books, and other great take aways. See you there! We expect a large crowd! Note of the Day:
Many fly fishers like to adorn their fishing vests with all kinds of gadgets that are handy to reach. They are usually the ones who feel insecure without packing into vest pockets every fly they own. Others carry only the flies they need and hang gadgets on the inside of the vest so they don’t tangle their fly line. source unknown
