- January 18: General Meeting: Czech and Euro-style Nymphing
U.S. Fly Fishing Team member Devin Olsen and Captain of the Colorado Youth Fly Fishing Team Connor Murphy will share with us some exciting fly fishing techniques. Tournament fishing brings out cutting edge skills and we will be able to hear about one of the latest techniques for increasing our fishing success. The Czech and Euro-Nymphing technique and special flies used in tournament fishing can be adapted to recreational fly fishing to hook and bring more fish to net.
Devin is a graduate student in CSU’s Fishery Biology and current 2010-11 point leader in tournament fly fishing in the U.S. and Canada. Connor Murphy is a student at Fossil Ridge HS and placed 24th overall out of 70 competitors.
With these credentials, we are sure to learn some interesting tips for fishing.
Social hour begins at 6:30, and the Program follows at 7:30. Admission is free and the public is welcome. The Fort Collins Senior Center is located at 1200 Raintree Drive off Shields Avenue between Prospect and Drake. Additional meeting information.
