Rocky Mountain Flycasters’ Awards for 2011
Flycasters receive awards!
At the Annual Colorado Trout Unlimited Rendezvous in Redstone, Colorado, our chapter received two awards. The Outstanding Volunteer award was presented to Dennis Cook, Youth Outreach Chair for his many hours of dedicated volunteer work. A second award was presented and received by Dennis Cook for Exemplary Youth Education Program. Both awards are very well deserved, Dennis.
Rocky Mountain Flycasters manages three youth programs, Rocky Mountain Flycasters’ Fly Fishing and River Conservation Day Camp, Trout in the Classroom, and Middle School Age Fly Fishing Classes. RMF is also an active participant in local Water Festivals and Boys and Girls Club Festival for Kids.
All programs are in need of volunteer commitments in order continue our success and continued excellence. The RMF annual River Conservation & Fly Fishing Youth Day Camp runs the last week in July and can use adult mentors for many of the sessions. See the Youth page to obtain more information and the Camp Volunteer page for mentoring opportunities. Last year’s camp was a great success and we are looking for even more fun this year.
In 2012 instituted a series of Recognition Awards for chapter volunteers and a community service organization or individual. Each year in January nominations are submitted for the preceding year by chapter members, and recipients are determined by an Awards Selection Committee. The complete Awards Policy and Procedure can be viewed on our website. Award presentations are made at the May Annual Meeting, and it is not mandatory that every award category be presented every year.
If you know of someone who you think deserves some recognition for the work they have done to further the TU mission and Rocky Mountain Flycasters’ pursuit of that mission, please see our awards page and submit your nominations to the RMF secretary.
